Kristen is an outgoing and goal-oriented individual originally from central New Jersey. She graduated from Rowan University in 2012 with dual bachelor degrees in Communication and Art. Her interests primarily revolve around health, fitness, travel, sports and photography.

For health and fitness, she enjoys competing in obstacle races, as well as partaking in martial arts and yoga.So far, she has competed in the Tough Mudder (12 miles) and the Super Spartan Race (10 miles). She received her first degree black belt in 2006, and still lightly practices martial arts (specifically Krav Maga). She also became a certified yoga instructor on August 30, 2015, graduating from Dharma Yoga.

Travel has also been a major part of Kristen's life. She loves experiencing different cultures, and has been lucky enough to visit 13 states and 7 tropical locations in her life. She is always researching future vacations and jumps on any opportunity to expand her horizons.

For sports, Kristen is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan, Florida Gators fan, and New Jersey Devils fan. Every year she tries to see at least one game of each sport (which also aids in her love for travel!).

And of course, photography has been a long time hobby of hers. Even in her high school years, she was always enrolling in photography classes and was always seen with a camera in her hand.

Kristen Vaughn: Experience

Kristen Vaughn’s experience in photojournalism began through an internship at the South Jersey Times in 2011, and though her college studies at Rowan University. At The Times, she worked alongside of experienced photojournalists who helped her attain the skills needed to be a successful photographer. She not only sharped her eye for compelling composition, but learned her way around a camera and developed deep media ethics.

Quickly after graduating from Rowan, Kristen was noticed for her talent and perseverance and landed a gig as a freelance photographer for The Times of Trenton. At The Times of Trenton, her work was regularly published online and in print. Several of her images were selected as "photo of the day" on NJ.com, as well as featured on the front page of the daily paper. She has shot a variety of events ranging from parades, proms, graduations, college sports (TCNJ & Princeton), as well as National Hockey League games (Philadelphia Flyers). Kristen worked for The Times from 2012-2014, when she chose to move to Austin, TX.

In Texas, Kristen continues to do freelance photography. Here, she acquired a new love for interior photography through her current position at Presidium Property Management. Since April 2015, she has received several apartment photography assignments in both Austin and San Antonio.
